So I’m currently unemployed and have been contemplating bicycle couriering to fill the days. Has anyone of experience got companies to recommend and or general advice!
After 15years of retail I’ve decided I want to earn money doing something I enjoy and this could fill a gap whilst I’m working out what that is!
I can't help you myself, but there are plenty of current and former (mostly former these days) couriers on here, and I thought I'd bump this question. There are also some threads that people have started over the years, although undoubtedly the nature of the business has changed somewhat since then.

When I was a boy on the motorbike circuit, the rule of thumb was the same as it was for WWI pilots - you either didn't last two weeks, or you were in it for the duration. Neither seems like an appropriate run for gap filling. If you're serious about moving on to something better in a few months, I'd advise taking almost any other job than courier. Your first couple of months, particularly on the bike circuit, are going to be shit. You're not going to earn any money, and you might die. If you just want to fill the empty hours in a job with no barrier to entry, rent a Prius and go Ubering. You still won't make any money, but at least you'll be warm, dry and relatively safe.
