  • Kris is tall, Polish, clean shaven

  • Anyone know anything about Nip-Nip? Seem to be expanding very well.

  • Bike fit James from the francis cade videos has left sigma sports and taken over bicycle Richmond.
    Anyone been to it yet?
Appears to marketing it towards the top end.
Technically not a new shop tho.

  • Does anyone know which day Micycle N4 are open late? Their website seems to have been temporarily taken over by a forestry service

In fact, does anyone use their workshop membership, and what do you think of it?

    micycle.org.uk

  • Accessing via desktop takes me to the forestry site, but mobile takes me to their regular website. Copy and paste:

    Micycle N4:
    8 Ferme Park Road London N4 4ED Tel:0208 347 9180
    Mon 8:30 - 15:30 / Tue, Thur & Fri 11.30 - 18.30 / Sat - 10:00 - 17:00 /
    Wed & Sunday - Closed

  • Thank you - mobile redirects for me.

I thought they had an evening they were open to 7:30 or so

  • Being open later in the day works very well for us in Glasgow, 11am till 7pm four days a week and 11 till 5pm on a Sunday.
That 6 till 7 is my busiest hour most days as I'm the only independent open past 5 ish. Surprised more London shops arent like that.

  • We open at 8.30 which means people can drop their bikes in on their way to work and we can have them done by 6. We have thought of staying open til 7 but that’s a long day and we just can’t be arsed.

  • Any London bike shop where I could go in and buy a few m4 bolts and nuts easily?

    Thanks !

  • Any Halfords near you for random nuts/bolt.

Condor on Greys Inn road have a good range of small fixings in the shop too.

  • Clerkenwell Screws

  • Nice chap in Condor pointed me to Clerkenwell Screws yesterday. Can't get there before 5 though.

    Anything similar close by?

    Cheers

  • You can definitely get some nuts and bolts at the SDM Leyland in Holborn, but they won't be 'bike' bolts (i.e. won't have an allen key fitting). Or most bike shops would have some. Round there you have a Cycle Surgery and A Cycle Republic and an Evans (or used to).

  • Are there any bike shop owners on here? I have a few questions if anyone would be willing for a chat?

  • Went past this today:

    https://www.thecyclerylewisham.com/

Stopped in for a chat. They have worked on some of my stuff in a previous life. They are good lads and deserve to do well.

Who would have thought that South East London would see a renaissance of good bike shops?

  • This is good to know! Spotted it the other day but haven't had time to pop in yet!

  • Just picked my bike up after a service including truing of rear wheel.
Great vibe in the shop. Solid dudes with good advice previously from London Velo in Deptford. I feel as though I'm cheating on my other bike shops though :) but it's just soooo close to home.

  • That cheating feeling is weird isn’t it?

  • Some good news on bike shops for a change:

  • They seem to have the wrong address on the invites.... are they on Mildmay Grove North? Can’t find Mildmay Court.

  • It is a block on Mildmay Grove North. Can't remember why but have had exactly this confusion before.

  • Ah, sorry--it's on Mildmay Park. I didn't see that the full address wasn't on there. I haven't been there yet myself, but I think it's just north of the railway line, on the east (even numbers) side. Actually, it does show it on the F******* page:

    https://www.facebook.com/Banzaibikesuk/about/

  • I see, the address for that must be in Mildmay Park, even though the building is in Mildmay Grove North.

Never mind, as a way of attracting attention, it clearly works. :)

  • Great launch party for Banzai Bikes tonight, a really lovely shop (and I swear I don't just say that because I won a T-shirt in the raffle when I wanted to buy one, anyway). It looks small from the outside but has a lot of space downstairs. Previously, the same unit was a builder's merchant, so that gives an indication of it.

    It's run by @Cam_Rakshasa / @Cam-Rakshasa (who could conceivably update his user profile(s) on here :) ).

The issue that was touched on above about the address isn't their fault. The postcode apparently puts them in Mildmay Park, but they're just a few yards around the corner in Mildmay Grove North, easily visible from Mildmay Park, just next to the food shop north of the railway line. Do pop in and say hello to them if you're in the area.

    Here's to much success!

  • This one opened a while ago, but I forgot to post about it, even though I was delighted to see a new opening.

I'm sure there are many more all around London, but I haven't really been paying attention.
