Can’t decide between a kit, or a runner that already has some hop ups......

I'm the same, I think having never had one I'd quite like to put it together and upgrade as I need.

Also, having never had one, the ease of RTR is quite appealing...

I'm probably going kit so I can give it my own steezy paint job.

I think that's part of the joy of it, the build, also helps you know what to look for if summat goes/sounds wrong. And like you say, you can go for it with the painting of the shell. The DT03 I've ordered isn't available til end of next month, but I'm already looking at hop ups/ mods, just because I am one of life's tinkerers, so bikes n buggies are perfect hobbies for me.

Which one did you go for?

Racing Fighter black edition, comes with bearings, turnbuckles, light gearshafts, steel driveshafts, 19t pinion, and a tble02 esc. Bought some black wheels, as the stock red won't go with my colour scheme.
Comes with torque tuned 540, gonna run NiMH til I get back into handling a buggy again, then go hunting more power, not crazy more, but the right amount of more.
Oh, and it's cheaper than the stock Racing Fighter.

So much this. I had a couple of kits but mostly bought runners before, my eyes keep getting drawn to the Top-Force

Top force is very nice, and £200. If I get properly back into buggies, I may go 4wd, but that would have to be a Cat or an Optima.

But they may re-do the top force evo, but can I wait to find out?

Yeah, plus with yo spare cash u can mod the base Top Force to an Evolution...

That said though I have just been offered a TF kit out of Hong Kong for £110.....

The alu tray is for wipe outs over aero. Lost the rear axle, motor and pinion gear at 40mph on its first outing.

Infact this is what puts me off getting a Tamiya legend. I would kill it in 5 mins. 😎
