one thing i will say in favor of the compact frame is that it makes super-tuck much better. probably faster and also it is more comfortable.

Thanks. It’s in pretty remarkable condition. Some minor corrosion around one cable stop. Aside from more immediate changes to bars/stem/saddle/seatpost/pedals, it will eventually have a somewhat more modern groupset.

I have one in dark grey? Steerer is damaged at the top 15mm or so, but could be cut down past the damage

you just make one rear triangle then glue it on to any frame size.
Ha, aren't they monocoque construction?
Actually @Howard's theory isn't far off. Even with carbon fibre, having one size of rear triangle means all sizes use the same size and shape sheets for the layup, and you don't have to redesign the layup for varying seatstay angles.

Nice find, good start.
Did you cut the steerer then flip the stem for more rise? I get why some people do this but it might look better if the stem was a little less fussy (or white?). Something clean and silver to match the seatpost maybe with a silver spacer/top cap would look good. Black bar tape, a pair of king stainless cages and 25/8c gumwall corsa's and you're good to go! Other opinions are available...
