  • A ramp test takes less that 15min. If the value is oddly high then it makes sense to confirm. Given that all the training is based around the number.

  • Yeah, but if he's tired then the test is likely to be falsely low. I just wouldn't bother, I don't take TR's FTP as gospel, it's just a starting point and I tailor workouts up and down as I see fit. Since, he's taking a few days off, a retest will probably be worth it but I wouldn't do one as well as trying to continue the workouts.
