Hmm understood but on the other hand its located at the most flexible spot of the ST. Wouldnt that defeat the purpose?

No I don't think so. Seatposts naturally flex, the lower down the seat stays join, the more length of seatpost and seattube are allowed to flex > increased comfort.
With the added benefit of a smaller rear triangle being stiffer for pedalling efficiency.

That's what they sell you anyway
