It seemed to promise hr against gps track, using Bluetooth HRM strap. It didn't even record the GPS track let alone allow me to connect my HRM to it.
I most likely have misunderstood what it should do.

Cool, ta.

I'm now giving this one a try. It has found my HRM strap, yet to plot a route track.
There's a beta test group which will allow link to upload to strava for the kudos fans.

Wahoo app does not seem to have live segments or strava routes. Not sure if I really need them, but it is really difficult to match Strava native app features. I would have even been happy to pay something for it.

Is really quite good, basic look & feel but defo doing what I need it to, gps track & hrm.
Exports to a fit file which I can upload to my training log & to Strava for the segmentz (& kudosez if I make them public).
Will see how it affects battery on a run tomorrow. Got it at 1/2 second on the GPS for highest accuracy at the mo.

discussion was around Strava ceasing pairing of BT sensors and alternatives

I find the a Wahoo app super slow and crashy.

Wahoo is not strava
I can't believe it
-

Yeah,
I know, but Live Segments and Routes are the thing that has differentiated Strava app from the competition. Not saying I could not live without them, but those are the features that have made the app competitive with dedicated devices. -

That’s the ELEMNT app. The Wahoo app may be ok, gonna try it for recoding runs over winter.

Update on myworkouts app really impressed, low battery drain & very thorough, here's my data from a short warm down (edit: I was a stood at a road crossing at first so hr starts low)

Zwift rides with a gps track can get in the fucking bin. It's bad enough posting trainer workouts, but activities that look identical to actual rides?

Massive puff piece in Grauniad today

See Ricky Gates, he goes somewhere and runs every road. Eg. San Francisco. She did a place with one road

Ah right, that sounds like the kind of thing I'd do to take the piss out of him. In Oz, there's tonnes of towns with a single street. I mean, I say town, more like wheat silo and a servo.

I posted a while back about relative effort scores and how mine are low generally for the equal time in zones compared to others. Apparently this is because I calculated my own zones rather than it being based on max hr. What nonsense is that? How does it make sense?

All is forgiven. Chronological feed is back.

Strava is telling me that I have a fitness score of 48, which is, erm, great - but I've got no context for it, and Strava tells me to check back to "what it was when you were fit", which isn't much help as that was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
What should I aim for - 100? 500? 1,000?
-

I'd aim for using a more useful metric.
What does it promise? I've never even loaded it, just wondering what it does.
