  • Starting to think I make VERY strong coffee. Someone else own up to 20g+ in one cup and make me feel better?! Haha.

  • That is pretty strong by any objective measures I think!

    If you are using quite a coarse grind though, could come out similar to a lower amount which would have longer extraction - I'd try 16ml of water per g of coffee and make your grind a bit finer, see if you can get similar taste but make the coffee go further

  • I just follow the stock James Hoffman French press method (from his book, 75 g/L) and thus my morning routine consists of 35g of coffee for 467mL of water. Doesn't feel particularly strong but then it's a French press and we've been talking about v60 so far?

  • 20g for a 300ml cafetiere - every morning. That is one cup for me. Sometimes I make 2.
