Fixed skylight.
Architects was a bit of a minefield. Quite a few wanted dollar just to come around for a look. Then the ones who did come around, all said different things about max size of apertures, min size permitted for downstairs loo etc.
Eventually found a fairly low rent architect who did some drawings which the builder then semi ignored. Didn't end up mattering that much, though.
ah right. we did side about 7 years ago - i'll send some pics.
main learning was.... make sure you get your kitchen layout planned before you build anything and run pipes and wires. make sure the kitchen people speak to the building people...
Also we let the builder spec a cheap skylight and most of the double glazed units are blown now and need replacing.
