That sadly was one of the first things they mentioned last year, and WTF, really... it is just so low.
Also voted to remove Erasmus education programme.
And voted against making Settled Status registration a registration, so now thousands to tens of thousands of mainland EU citizens will miss the deadline AND lose their right to live/work/healthcare.
As some people are in vulnerable situations (care homes/shelters), or will simply think they don't need to apply or not get information.
There is also no right of appeal atm, they voted against that. In theory that can be implemented, but I have my doubts.
They are so powerdrunk it seems they forgot that with their absolute majority they don't even have to do nasty things like this to get votes, it is just being shits for the sake of it.

I think one complained about the refusal of the UK to take child refugees, as his grandparents were Jewish fleeing the war (if I recall right)
But if none of them voted against it...well, actions speak louder than words etc.

"I care about this issue, but not as much as my salary and brown-nosing the leadership"
"Some of my best friends are child refugees"
etc... -

Sorry, care to expand on this please - what exactly does that mean?

The law as it is now is that if you don't register for SS/pre-SS, you WILL lose the right to live/work/healthcare, or to put it in newspaper terms, become an Illegal Immigrant.
So, you will be fine. But people in care homes with dementia or people in homeless or other shelters with no paperwork that cannot apply or people that don't know won't be.
The HO knows that it is impossible to get everyone to register in time. That is not a fault of the UK, Spain/USA never managed it either. Registration after people arrive is just never going to work well. With the SS app they are doing what they can, though that process is also quite buggy and people often get the wrong status.
But instead of making provisions and getting people to register as they do, but let everybody that miss the deadline register when they are found, they just declare all those people illegal immigrants.

Note that even with SS/pre-SS you can be removed/refused if you have a criminal record but it has to be quite serious, a prison sentence of 12 months or longer. But, so far only 2 people have been refused due to a criminal record. Of 1-2 million (the counts are also no great, they may doublecount people)

The body of a child aged about 10 has been found in the undercarriage
of a plane that had arrived in Paris from Abidjan, sources close to
the investigation have told French media. -

It is just quite unbelievable, especially as a furrin' went to a local UKIP conference (that was some time ago, they wrote about it on Facebook) and even the people there were sympathetic and said everything should be the same for us here and the Brits abroad.
When you overtake UKIP on the right...

I got the details: The child refugee one is the Dubs amendment. Lord Dubs came here in WW2 under the Kindertransport scheme.
Sometimes I wish karma was a thing, but we'd potentially all be in a mini hell then...the flames would be a little hotter for some though :)

I'd put up with a scorch or two for some people to roast though..

Agree. It's the Australian argument again really; show any sympathy, pity or human kindness in any way and you encourage them all to come over here. We all know it's rubbish but politicians seem to think we want to hear it.

It did seem like this was going to be the only explanation. All the tracking data suggested it just got blown out of the sky.
Amazing and unbelievably tragic that the Iranian self inflicted death toll following the Soleimani killing is now somewhere around 225 with the stampede and accidentally shooting down an airliner. The world is a crazy place.

Russian missile “accidentally” shoots down Ukrainian airliner in a crisis zone. Seems we have heard a version of this before.

It confirmed that both the aircraft’s black boxes had been recovered, giving investigators access to data and cockpit communications, though some parts of their memory had been damaged in the crash.
Seems unlikely. Although I know nothing about black boxes or data storage
