If you want true waft you have to go further back, things like bmw E39 530i estate.
My 2015 A4 estate is rock hard on its S-line suspension and 19's... Stupid really!
The most comfortable modern estate I drove recently was a 2012 Peugeot 508 with the 1.6 petrol turbo... That was very smooth, very relaxing and great seats. Huge amount of space in the back. The owner had swapped the 19" wheels for 18's though
