That's a good pick, shiny finish I hope. Are you doing it yourself?
-
• #3232
Yes shiny like that car ∆
I want to get into painting some day. But it is too much money/hassle/safety in my current situation.
I am getting it painted for free by a friend's father in law. Finish will be a bit rough like the curry cross bike, but that's ok for my own bikes.
I am looking into fancier/better paint options for friends/other people's bikes in the future.

Is this a hint that in the future, I'll be able to make a down payment for my Hulsroy all-road s&s-coupled mini-velo?
-
• #3234
Main reason I am not doing this is the overheads.
It is currently not possible for me to do it as a hobby and have stock of materials, workshop + equipment and a good product insurance.I need to feed my fam and working as a designer/architect/teacher is the safe route. Safety is demanded right now :)

That's a very reasonable priority!
I'm in no rush, but it would be nice to have a Hulsroy (that's more suited for my modest 180 cm) in the future, so even a potential maybe future Hulsroy frameworks sounds good!

Such an awesome bike! For some reason it kind of reminds me of a pedersen, I guess it must be the combination of the frame size, top tube slope, long headtube and slammed stem.
-
• #3238
Ha. Most subtle burn ever.
It could also be the frame pump looking like an extra tube

More vintage shit for me to destroy

Ha! I can see why my comment seems like a subtle burn, the pedersen does look odd indeed. I still think your bike looks fabulous despite the perceived similarities.

Thanks :)
I know it doesn't look very conventional. But this is exactly why I got into framebuilding. I wanted bikes that suited by needs looking less shit than adapted off the peg stuff. That and cargo bikes. -

Working on a stem for my GT Ruckus SSMTB.
I had some issues tracing the original logo onto new faceplate so will have to settle for a soldered on logo.

Is the logo going to be visible through powder coat? I wonder...

Nice Jig!

Neat! How does the clamp for the steerer work? Some sort of expanding wedge?
-
• #3246
Like this.

Thanks. I had to use what I had laying around.
I'll do the steerer part more solid in the future -
