Have you tried swapping day/night modes?
Yeah but i think they're almost equally bad - but I appreciate it's mainly my eyesight that's the issue. I just wish they'd let you thicken the route line a bit as well as edit the colour.
Basically the 830 display is about 50% closer to the colour definition shown in the 1000 above - which makes it easier for me to read than a 1030 at night despite the smaller size.
Yeah, but what was a 'neon yellow' or 'bright green' 1mm thick line on the 800 , became a 'dirty mustard' or 'sludge' 0.001mm thick line on the 1030. I once asked my wife which colour route she found easiest to see of the two- she replied... "what route?" :)
The 830 seems to have compromised with a 'fairly bright yellow/green' of 0.5mm thick (plus the rest of the map has better colour differentiation generally). This doesn't seem to have negatively impacted the battery, which was assumed to be the benefit of muting the colours so much on the 1030..
^ that's a bad example (it's someone else's pic designed to demonstrate something else) but you can see how the red, blue and black elements stand out a bit better - which is what my eyes really struggle with at night.
