I really liked the mobile phone policy but admittedly hadn't thought of it in a disability context - you'd hope staff would be pragmatic in that kind of situation.

Also it doesn’t necessary just disabled people, but what if you’re anxiously waiting for a call/text/email from the hospital/work/etc. What if you don’t want to be bothered by a creep by looking busy at your phone? Etc.

It’s easy for us to be positive about a mobile ban from a position of privilege.

Or what if they just want to look at their phone? As long as they are not with me then what do I care what other people are doing? It can't be as bad as overhearing men talking about football, maybe they should ban that instead.

Your point about disabilities etc. is of course a very valid one, but even without that I'll definitely not visit a pub that has that kind of rule.

I'm not sure they pay attention to those rules too strictly. I prefer station hop anyway, although tallyrand and nordie are good too, not been in overdraught yet, it used to be my bank and I still owe them money, not convinced it's not all a ploy to catch me and force repayment.

I used to drink at the Fitzroy and the Yorkshire grey a fair bit when I lived on Gt Titchfield St and was skint. Likely a different era, but the beer was pretty shit then. Fitz was definitely the friendlier of the two - they were a bit odd in the YG, though we did end up having a monster after hours in there once.

Suspected this one would be in Greater Manchester so had a look - historically Cheshire supposedly. The Wndmill in Carrington. Had some okay times in the past there but that night there was a bunch of fellas so keen to insist 'professional drivers and cyclists will never get on' and just keep prodding us for reactions.
