What camera do I buy? / general gear talk

Im looking to upgrade from my OM10 film camera to something that a bit better, something a bit more powerful that gives a higher quality, sharper photo when I print picture bigger than 8x10" etc.

Been looking at a Contax G1. Any one got any experience with these or any other suggestions?

Famously unreliable in the time when even the best ones (G2, hexar) are un repairable.

Excellent lenses though.

Buy with the thinking that you are ok to lose £££ once it dies.

Or get a leica m3 or m2. Expensive to buy but they hold their value and will outlive you.

I want to spend 4-500 not 1.5k or more!!

Ive read good things about the lens though tbf....

The only thing that puts me off the contax is the fact its fully electronic etc.

I do like the look of it tho
