Loading tools in and out of a proper big boot is a lot easier, and generally larger capacity would be a bonus, especially looking forward with hoping to have the car for 5 years plus.

Mine allegedly does but you wouldn't know it when it's going up a hill.

2.5 litre in mine is silky smooth, and loves to be revved, but i wouldn't call it fast. Its quite lacking in low end torque. To the point that i found myself dropping to 3rd at one point on a motorway to get any real shove from 60mph.

You’re obviously not familiar with the 1.2l petrol fabia estate.

Admittedly i don't think I've ever owned a car with an engine smaller than 1.6l (106 gti, and later clio 220, but that had a turbo)
