WTB: Brompton O Bag

As above, new commute means more stuff and laptop to carry, so looking for the larger Brompton O bag. £220 seems steep to buy new, so anything out there?

London based ideally, but open to options.

O bags really aren’t that big, have you looked at one in a shop?

If your wanting to carry more look at the borough L bag.

Seem to be ok? Not the mini one, the 20L version which seems to hold about the same as one of their panniers, or is that not the case?

20L minus the very padded laptop sleeve. It’s no way near as useable space as a roller pannier.

Also if you’ve ever used a Ortlieb pannier, you can cheat it as it has a roll closure and you can cheat by just clipping one side.
The Brompton bag is not roll top.
I suggest you check on out before committing a fair bit of cash.

However the O bag is a quality product and is very good for transporting a laptop so could be just peachy for you.

Ah perfect. Thanks for the tip! I’ve got Ortlieb panniers so was basing the size on that, which seemed plenty! Will definitely go and check it out before buying rather than buying blind online. Thanks!

Are the new bags waterproof? That’s why I liked the idea of the O bag.

hmm they do get heavily discounted, I bought mine brand new from Evans for £149. Its excellent, capacity and compartments are great and it looks 'normal'.

Good to know! Is it waterproof enough? I currently have the small waxed cotton roll top and find that it needs an extra cover to stop the inside getting damp.

Waxed cotton, its 'heavier' waxed cotton than that rolltop, very close to Billingham bags. I have an S bag which I never use, just the game bag. Carry laptop, full change of clothing, towel, shower stuff on the gym days. Its excellent.

T bag is pretty good, comes with raincover.

Carradice is a good option and pretty well priced on certain websites...

Went into Brompton junction today to have a look and the game bag looked good, but also seemed to be the same size as the new O bags, at least from the outside.

Will take a look at certain websites to see carradices offering, do like their saddlebags.

Watch out! They will ban your disc brakes!

Game bag is same as O bag sizing.

I’d go with a Carradice City M folder - just use a frame that doesn’t have a handle - we are out as Brompton are changing, new ones due “soon”
