Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

I reckon the next MOT is the one where it might fail, so I’d rather spend some time saving and researching my options. Can’t be without a vehicle for work and I’d like to avoid finance where possible. Very much just speculating at the moment (and who doesn’t like window shopping for cars?).

That’s caught my attention. Am I missing something? Obviously Petrol not diesel but should have a decent bit of life left in it surely?

I think the general advice is to buy as new as possible, i.e. higher mileage for the age, rather than an older car with fewer miles. Petrol rather than diesel, manual rather than auto.

Looks about right, pricewise.

The 1.8 petrol engine seems to have a reasonable rep and you see them being mini-cabbed so they must last ok.

Go in completely the wrong direction and get a Clio V6. For no other reason than they've got two doors and I've wanted one for ever.

The rear doors can be quite handy for loading the boot though. Just remove the rear seats instead.

Yeah but they've got a bonnet under which you can probably just about fit a full-face helmet, and bike goes on the roof. Absurdity in spades, wish I had the money and the space.
