Good work! Shifted about that myself today, don't reckon I walked as far though!
Been doing a few jobs here and there, but not had much time at our plot recently due to life.
We had a whole day today and tackled a five foot high pile of compost (which had been left for years by the previous tenant and was overrun with bindweed).
I've been ignoring the back half of our plot so far, but with two fruit trees and some blueberry bushes on the way it was time to tackle it, we leveled it all off, moved the massive pile and put down weed barrier and bark infront of the shed, feeling very pleased with the progress.

Still got tons of crap from the previous tenant, been told there won't be a non metal skip until spring which is a PITA. Tempted to just get a van and take it all to the tip

^ indeed.
Most of my green tomatoes have ripened using the banana method. Yay!
(Possible they'd have ripened anyway...)

My newly found allotment habit may well turn out to be expensive:

Their tools are super expensive, but really really hard to break.

On the subject of bling tools - http://www.implementations.co.uk - do amazing bronze/copper tools.
I have had the hydra hoe for a few years which has been a revelation. -

Just 7 months on the waiting list and we've been offered a plot! There's a shed and a greenhouse, water on site, and it's not too far from home. This shouldn't take too long to clear should it?

Congratulations, nah that looks fine you'll be amazed what a couple of days work will do to that.

Lay cardboard over anything you want to kill and it’ll be dead by planting out time

Nice. Result to get the shed & greenhouse.

Go for it, grass is an easy dig over and you can tarpaulin any bits you can’t be bothered to dig over now. Shed, greenhouse and water are major plus points.

I don't think I'd heard of these before. What do they taste like?
-
• #748
Nice one. Hard to tell from pic, if that's Couch Grass it'll need digging out not just covering or digging over, still not a huge challenge though. Enjoy!

What do they taste like?
Nothing very exciting - potato with a slight lemon tang.
Easy to grow without the problems potatoes can get.
You only have to buy/acquire the tubers once.
