You need to post a google review otherwise it’ll go unnoticed.
Evans Cycles relies on Google review as it does not go against the GDPR.

They’re going around calling people “snowflakes” 🤦♂️
Way to go, using a controversial slogan that stirred up massive issues than an actual parody.

Wow. This makes it extremely easy not to give them my money.

This is not from the company
It's one member of staff - I have reported the account and forwarded it to Evans themselves as it's a bloody nightmare

This. It’s very clearly not Evans themselves.

The whole MEGA/snowflake methodology is pretty telling about the leanings of whoever is behind this account. All the same, I am pleased I don't work for Evans any more, for at least one reason that this person has for doing all this shit. Hopefully I don't share any other opinions with them

Well someone's about to get fired

It’s not a fake account (as they have tried to tell @edscoble it is) so it’s someone within the company that has access to the social media account.
I’m not saying the company has to be responsible for the beliefs of its employees but they way the person is coming across on social media leads me to believe they must have displayed signs of these types of beliefs throughout their employment. If you let someone like that get to the level that has access to social media accounts, and try to fob other people off when they bring it to your attention...it’s a fine line between permitting and approving/endorsing.

The social media accounts have no level of security beyond the ones that exist on Instagram and are set up by the store themselves and not controlled via head office.
It’s likely an issue arising from this store/individual not being warned or sanctioned for this kind of behaviour. They obviously need setting straight as this is simply offensive.

Lol are you serious? It’s absolutely not an officially sanctioned Evans Cycles account. You think Evans Cycles would have an account named ‘Make Evans Great Again’?
Watch their story. Says it all.
Edit: there’s clearly feelings of ‘making Evans great again’ within the business as even other stores have tagged the account in stuff 🤦♂️

So you’re telling me someone has been quietly posting innocuous pro-Evans stuff for almost two years just building up to this?

Sleeper agent

Post on 20th November 2018. Reckon an official Evans account would post that? It’s run by someone/people who work at Evans HQ according to their previous posts. They want Evans to succeed, so I can see why they’d post official Evans bulletins/adverts etc. But now they’re being cunts about it.

So much so, that it was probably an individuals named account/something similar and they’ve now changed it to make Evans great again. I don’t believe Evans Cycles Ride It Events Instagram page would tag an account called ‘makeevansgreatagain’. Anyway, my speculation is done for now.

There is going to be one hum-dinger of an office meeting next week, when all the managers get back from their holidays.

Bank holiday tomorrow too, more time to stew

When was Evans ever great? Wasn’t OG Evans a complete cunt?

As I am on holiday, I figured I might do a bit of upkeep and maintenance on my winter bike.
Earlier today, as I was passing Evans at London Bridge I stopped in, with a view to buying some Swarfega. There were four member of staff behind the desk.
None of them knew what Swarfega was.
When I explained it was a product for getting oils off your hands after a spot of maintenance, and that they might have a similar product from a different manufacturer, they just looked bemused.
I got the impression that the idea of doing your own bike maintenance was a step too far for them.
One of them did call me 'bro' though, so it's all good.
I just want to record my thanks to Chris (and everyone else) at East Dulwich, who salvaged my partner's Arkose after I somehow absolutely ruined the front axle on my first time of doing it back up.
He clearly had to put in a ridiculous amount of work to get the part out of the central supply chain. What I paid seems insufficient for that level of persistence and competence.
