  • Not bought much this year, favourite of what I have, Lankum - The Livelong Day, and they were excellent live too.

  • Has anyone here listens to the new Kevin Morby
    Yes,Sounds great

  • I've only had a few albums on the go this year. In no particular order:

    Special Request - Offworld
    Barker - Utility
    Artefakt - Monsoon
    Underworld - Drift series (Sampler)
    Karenn - Grapefruit Regret

  • Billie Eilish - Where Do We Go etc.
and Big Thief - Two Hands

  • Never gave that Malibu Ken album a proper go. Big Aesop Rock fan so must go back

  • Sharon van Etten - remind me tomorrow

  • Here you go

There's a second one now too!

  • There's been some incredible music coming out of the London jazz scene in the last few years... Just relentless quality from people like Kamaal Williams, Nubya Garcia, Moses Boyd, Alfa Mist, Ezra Collective, Idiom, Yusef Dayes, Chelsea Carmichael, etc.
But I think the standout albums for me this year are Ashley Henry 'Beautiful vinyl hunter', Joe Armon Jones 'Turn to clear view', Seed Ensemble 'Driftglass' Nerija 'Blume' and Theon Cross 'Fyah'.
Rosie Turton's and Sarah Tandy's '5ive' albums are also worth mentioning.
So many incredibly talented young jazz musicians in London right now!
I was hoping the new Theo Parrish album 'Wudaji' would be out this year, but looks like that's going to be 2020 now.

  • Yes! Street Worms is brilliant!

  • I listened a lot more old stuff this year than before, discovered some rad bands from back in the days, so there wasn't too much time for new stuff. These are great though:

    Monolord - No Comfort
Elder - The Gold & Silver Sessions
    VIC - Age of Aquarius
Spaceslug - Reign of the Orion
Lemurian Folk Songs - Ima 今
Red Scalp - The Great Chase In The Sky
Big Scenic Nowhere - Dying on the Mountain
We Lost The Sea - Triumph & Disaster
    shallov - Compress, Expand

About Tool, well... good album, but I've found nothing outstanding on it. It's just not catchy for me. 10,000 Days is one of my all-time favourites and Fear Inoculum just cannot compare to that imo.

  • Got a Bandcamp voucher for Christmas so just bought most of your recommendations. Really good stuff, thanks!

  • Yes!! Offworld and Grapefruit Regret have been getting a hammering. Woolford is a genius. I’ll try your other suggestions.

Away from electronic music, I’ve enjoyed the Fontaines DC album a great deal.

  • Glad you like them!
I've been listening to the Ashley Henry and Seed Ensemble albums on a daily basis! :)

  • Street Worms is brilliant!

My partner is thoroughly sick of it, or at least claiming to be, before she decides it's good and wants to listen to it on her commute.

  • Since wee talking electronic, I loved new Andy Stott.

    New Floorplan was underwhelming, disappointingly.

  • DC Fontaines was at the front of my rotation for a good while. Really like that tight, Fall, post punk crap.

  • Albums of the decade?

  • Purple Mountains - What a fantastic album!

  • Really surprised its not mean mentioned already.

Lana Del Ray - Norman Fucking Roxwel

For me its the album of the year hands down.

Fka twigs magdalena was very good too.

  • Yes!! Offworld

Pay what you want. Superb mad synthy D&B
