There's been some incredible music coming out of the London jazz scene in the last few years... Just relentless quality from people like Kamaal Williams, Nubya Garcia, Moses Boyd, Alfa Mist, Ezra Collective, Idiom, Yusef Dayes, Chelsea Carmichael, etc.
But I think the standout albums for me this year are Ashley Henry 'Beautiful vinyl hunter', Joe Armon Jones 'Turn to clear view', Seed Ensemble 'Driftglass' Nerija 'Blume' and Theon Cross 'Fyah'.
Rosie Turton's and Sarah Tandy's '5ive' albums are also worth mentioning.
So many incredibly talented young jazz musicians in London right now!
I was hoping the new Theo Parrish album 'Wudaji' would be out this year, but looks like that's going to be 2020 now.
