Ignoring VAR I've always thought that offside needs to be relaxed. Even so far as to require daylight.

I liked Souness' suggestion yesterday. If any part of the player is onside, it's not offside.

Then you’d just have the same problem in reverse, no? Arguing whether said armpit was onside or not.

Sure, was just commenting that I think that offside is too stringent and ruining the flow of the game. Wasn’t suggesting that it would solve the VAR problem.
