Don't bother, just walk it in to the St. James RSC. By the sounds of it it has a uni-directional submariner click spring under the bezel rather than the bi-directional GMT spring. It's a 2-minute job to fix, and they'll likely do it for free.

A belated Friday watch snap from my side, happy I brought this one!

Ah, thanks. Too late as it goes, watch is back with Rolex already I think.

Rolex website says the London RSC is closed for refurbishment in any case.

It'll be getting well polished
-
• #40688
In my personal experience, Rolex are happy to not polish a watch if you ask. Or at least they didn't polish the 5700 that they serviced for me.
Even if they do, the polishing that they do tends to be pretty sympathetic.

Lol

My AD gave me an odd look when I asked for it not to be polished.
-

Given how sympathetic a Rolex polish usually is, they generally only expect people to ask if it's a rare model.
Which is clearly bullshit. A watch doesn't have to be rare for you to want it to be as original as possible.

Getting kind of tempted by a Seiko SARB017 Alpinist.
Loving the sunburst green dial and the compass function. Not that I'd probably ever need it for when I do go up in the mountains as I have a map/compass and two GPS units anyway.
Just a pity that the standard strap is a bit shit.

Case looks really sharp in that pic. Nice.
You can source an OEM bracelet for it that looks good, stamped end links though.

Edit: it’s a 6R calibre with diashock as well? That’s some value.

You can get refurbed ones on the bay for £250. Chrono new with box and papers for £400-500.
Probably look at 2nd hand refurb to be honest.
Edit: The refurb ones look like fakes after a bit more checking of the sellers.

Lurked here but never posted.
Need a new strap for this. It's well 'loved'
Just got an old leather strap on at the mo.
Not sure what I want really. Just something secure. This is getting old and the leathers going.
Watch doesn't need a service and keeps good time. Not particularly fussed about scratches on it etc. It gets used.
What should I get?
