The solar charger I fitted kept enough juice in the battery to unlock the car but not to start it, so that's a bust. Fucking English weather >>>
Anyone fitted a battery cut-off switch to their car and can recommend one or any to avoid?

How big is your charger? Mine keeps the battery full enough to start a 3.4 litre engine after a month or two of inactivity. I think yours may be too small.

Have done this to other cars. Some cars have different spec drivers seats compared to passengers seats, that is usually in the frame so stripping the seat and changing the covers.

Dammit. - worth charging the merc battery with a modern conditioning charger before you throw it out.. My old Volvo's battery died and after a couple of days on a lidl cheapie it was fine.. Trying to jump start from a nissan leaf was more problematic though!

Pft. If you guys were ballers you'd be flying private from LCY and helicoptering the rest.
One of my clients does this. He gets changed into his ski gear on his jet and gets dropped off in the ski area in Zermatt via Sion so he can have a ski while some other scrubbers deliver his luggage to his chalet.
I think it's 2.5 hours from wheels up to skis on snow if everything goes to plan.

LCY is no good for me. If I really was a baller I'd have a private deal with the USAF to use Mildenhall or Lakenheath as and when convenient. And an Osprey to cut out the chopper transfer.

What is it? It's like a Giuletta but with a different front end.

I know this perhaps the wrong thread but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
On my way home from the annual family Christmas getogether / argument the hillstart assist on my van kicked in at a set of traffic lights half way up a steepish hill. When I set off again the brakes didn't release and I had to crawl up the hill to the top with my brakes on. At the top of the hill I switched off, took the keys out of the ignition, locked the van and waited 5 minutes so that all of the electrics could reset. The fault had cleared however at no point was there any kind of warning light and when I checked with my plug in computer thingy when I got home there was no fault code locked. Van is still in warranty and this hasn't happened before so question is do I cross my fingers and hope this doesn't happen again or put myself and my van in the hands of the ford commercial vehicles customer service (which is renowned for being a bit shit) and lose my van for a couple of weeks?

Phone the garage and ask if there's a known fault that matches it.
Sometimes there are errata updates to software and systems that don't quite fall into the recall category and yet can be done with 5 minutes in the garage whilst you wait.
I'd try and determine how much time you may be without the van, and whether this is even known, before choosing to ignore or get it dealt with.

Fingers crossed it's this thanks. Will check up on it.
