Cheers, it’s a Seiko 6138-8000, known as the ‘Jumbo’. Picked it up for a few hundred at a fair, nice examples are £500-600 and climbing as people realise you get a lot for your money. Same with the bullhead and ‘Kakume’ (Square eyes) variants, so good in the flesh.
As with all vintage chronographs it’s the servicing that’ll hurt.https://www.60clicks.com/seiko-6138-chronograph-collectors-guide/

To my uneducated eye it looks pretty solid. No crazy polishing on the lugs.
Good choice on the Coke. Irl Coke and black are the best as they tone down the flashiness.

Pic of the clasp? The crown on the clasp is a good way of checking for over polishing.

Wut? Looks quite aggressively polished to me. Needs regal to arbitrate.

Geneva airport Rolex update... it's getting silly. They have a Submarinier, Explorer 2, Root Beer GMT 2 (gold), and lots of others in the display.
Oh sorry, those are for show not for sale. For actual sale, 4 shitty gold watches no one wants.

Cheers. I've done a bit more googling and found that it is acrylic so I'll give toothpaste a try.

Is there damage to the bezel? Above the 20 bit obscured by the sleeve. Might be my eyesight though.

It’s going to Rolex next week as the bezel only rotates anti clockwise- something is stopping its rotation in the other direction, so there’s going to be a hiatus of 4-6 weeks anyway on this one (and Rolex might polish it again?!?)

It’s definitely had a polish but fairly sympathetically. Following link is to an unpolished example with yellowing tritium markers (which I like) https://omegaforums.net/threads/rolex-gmt-master-ii-16710-full-set-and-unpolished.88135/
Sounds cheesy but does the watch speak to you? If I was spending £10k I wouldn’t settle for anything less than heart stopping.

@frankohara This is a good deal. I bought mine from Jura a few years ago with 20% off, and it was £800 then.
In answer to your questions, I like it a lot. Very slim, and the width is perfect for me. The lugs are long but it’s a feature of the design, and they aren’t a problem at all.
As I’ve said about it before - if it got lost or damaged I’d buy another, which is a pretty sound endorsement.

Oof. Wonderful example.

I am quite keen on that Citizen titanium watch that shows up in this thread once in a while. What is the best/cheapest way of getting one?
Only outlet I could find online is John Lewis, should I just order it from there? Or are there better/cheaper stores I need to know about? The other option, if that is an option, is that I travel quite a lot with work. So if re-routing my next work trip trough Schiphol or whatever would save me a hundred quid, then I'd seriously consider doing that.

hahahahaha more inclined to save for a Black Bay 36 now ... it changes day by day... stick to the Max Bill, save for a Tudor, just get the Nomos...

@t-v What @inchpincher said.
In the first pic you can see a bit of “orange peel” on the side of the lug where it’s been polished but not enough to get rid of the underlying scratches, and certainly not well enough to replicate the original mirror polishing.
Having said that, it’s definitely been done pretty sympathetically, not a showstopper unless you’re looking for one like that absolute peach Inchpincher linked to, or eg this one, and are willing to pay the premium.
