  • Nice! Happy with it? Any trouble with the long lugs? Been obsessed with the 701/703 club for a while. Two days ago, when I finally decided to try one on and walked into the local German watch specialist, ready to put down a deposit, all they had was bigger and uglier color combinations... apparently that club is rarer now and will take 4/5 weeks to source here! pondering again

  • Nice deccs m8

  • What model is this?

  • Heritage 1948. Thin as balls.

Wouldn't pay full retail for one, but feels right at about a grand. The fact I paid £300 on eBay is just blind luck really.

  • That is some fricking awesome bauble action.

Also some excellent watches and bold jumper choices today, good work everyone. Merry Crimbo one and all :)

  • Thanks!

I made him myself. Spruce take pride of place every Christmas.

  • Ooooof. #datpatina

  • I have a scratch on the glass of an old sekonda that I now have started to wear again after about 25 years. The interweb tells me that using tooth paste can get rid of it if it's not too severe. Is this real or is there something else I could use?

  • Used polywatch for scratches, about four quid from Amazon

  • Polywatch only works on untreated acrylics

  • Toothpaste works fine for light scuffs.

I've bought a few old Seiko's off eBay, toothpaste and tissue papered them back to a reasonable clarity.

Basically free as you most likely have toothpaste in your home.

  • Basically free as you most likely have toothpaste in your home.

That's what I was thinking. It is only a light scuff. Thanks all.

  • Rolex ADs have to give you the warranty cards now and release all current with held ones.

  • As above I’d only use polywatch/autosol/toothpaste on an acrylic crystal, having said that I’ve never tried on a mineral glass. However I did recently have a go at the gouges on my Seiko Jumbo (mineral) by working my way up from 1000 to 7000 grit wet & dry paper, not perfect but a damn sight better.

tbh, I have no idea what untreated acrylics are.

  • Funnily enough I don't really know what treated ones are eithwr

All I do know is that some (mostly modern) acrylics have a anti scratch treatment that means polywatch doesn't work on them. Junghans acrylics for example. Only one way to find out...

  • I’ve used autosol too. Worked great on acrylic.

  • Great job, and what's the Seiko ref? Looks real good.
