  • Yeahhh, I'm sorta sold on it. I'd prefer bolt thru, and would pay more if something came up.

  • Unless your going racing or riding the bike on it's limits then i wouldn't worry.

I'd like these to be options

  • The non evo bossnut is TA

  • and more monies and possibly the one to go for as it ticks the boxes left blank by the Evo.

  • You're both right. So am I right in thinking that the QR and having internal routing for a dropper are the big differences between frames

  • The new one is a complete redesign over the Evo so geo has changed too.

I have only had a quick look via go outdoors and they don't show indepth frame specs.
Go bargin and live with the QR or go current spec new version and get new frame, thru axle, 12 spd etc etc.

  • Right, Bossnut it is.

  • Thanks for the help!

  • Nice. Please keep this thread live and review back!

  • Got this ordered yet?

  • Probably not until Feb at least.
It's an expensive time of year!

Maybe I'll sell my track bike to fund it 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • It's an expensive time of year!

Tell me about it, I've got 4 birthdays to buy for in Jan.

You can replace not riding round in circles with riding through bogs.

  • I've got an 18" Orange 5 I might be selling in the New Year - it's 26" wheels but a very high spec inc some brand new parts:

    Hope brakes
    Fox forks, recently serviced
Brand new Fox shock, and newly fitted suspension bearings
Hope Pro II hubs, Mavic rims
    Renthal bars, Orange Stalk stem
    Carbon seatpost
    Brand new SLX rear mech
    Brand new Hope 1x chainring

Running very well with all those new bits.

And it's orange- what better Orange than an orange Orange?

I'll only be needing £850 for it, which considering the brand new shock would set you back £400 is a great deal! (I didn't pay that for it as the old shock died spectacularly and TFT did a very sweet deal on it - which is how come you get to benefit!)

Let me know if pics would be useful

  • Adding to this, if an Orange P7 pops up it might fill this gap!

  • When doing my research before I got the Crush, I saw a bargain ex demo P7 but the reviews were mediocre so didn't bother.

  • Saw this badboy for you, got Dior brakes and circus pension.

  • circus pension.

    High wire act pays off

  • Spotted that, dodgy surely, and obv a bit old

  • Hm, yeah, I'll have to check your one out. Have you changed much on it?

  • In short shit loads, might be easier to go through what I haven’t changed....

    Frame
Forks, although they’re the 2nd set as the first ones for sucked down, then stuck up, and were replaced under warranty.
    Rear mech
    Cassette

    That's it

I've still got the original wheels and tyres. And I've got a new chain set that also got replaced under warranty.

CRC have a good deal on a Ragley at the moment

  • 😫
The more I look, the more I can't decide what I want. Of course the answer is more than 1 bike, but bikes aren't cheap. So I'm open to anything else people have to show me (though I'm chasing after a particular hardtail at the mo so if that goes ahead, full susser is on pause)

  • Here's my Orange 5 as mentioned above - even comes with the custom rear mudguard to keep you completely dry!

It's had all the following work done on it:

    Brand new shock
Brand new drivetrain (ring, cassette, chain, mech)
    Forks serviced recently
    Brand new carbon seatpost

I've spent over £500 on parts and servicing in the past two months - it needs absolutely nothing doing to it & I'll throw in a brand new spare chain and cassette so you won't even need to spend on those when the time comes!

    Looking for £850

    (pedals and bell not inc!)

  • I can't believe you of all people is overlooking buying more than one bike!

  • I’ve got a trek superfly carbon hardtail 29” if you’re interested?

  • Not really feeling it if I'm honest.
Nice to see how well you've looked after it though, nice bike.
