  • Ok, verdict on Tesco Finest: tastes good but it’s a bit dry. Texture is closer to bread than fluffy clouds.

    @lynx go for it with the pan d’oro. I’ve only not mentioned it because I’m not a fan.

    Finding pan d'oro is getting better in the UK but mainly panetone.

    @greentricky wilko did a pumpkin cream one and that was popular.

    @neu That it what panetone traditionally is, an enriched bread. All those christian festivals for Italians have an enriched bread, love a colomba (dove). When my dad became a baker, we made panetone and local Italian breads, we used normal bread yeast. Did take longer as the mix didn't go in to the electric prover.

    Paper case wise I just make the greaseproof paper cut to make the base and then made the sides. Some times I glued the paper with either flour and water or suger as a paper glue.
