My wife had her 2016 Genesis Columbia Road (Large) stolen last night from outside the bus stops near Stratford station. Car jack through the lock. :(
It's light blue, with a Pelago rasket and mounts for both rear and front child seats. If you happen to see it, let me know!

Sorry to hear this, really shit.
Keep at Brick Lane. Speaking from experience it can take a few weeks before turning up there.

Hello all,
My girlfriend has had her bike stolen from our locked garage in Aldgate east, this was in the last few days. It is a purple genesis as pictured frame size 52, with a shimano tiagra groupset all round. It has a few scuffs on the handle bars/brake levers etc which are quite identifiable. (See pictures below of the bike) it also had some plastic bottle cages on when stolen not pictured. They got away with everything but the back wheel, cut the kryptonite cable sadly...
If anyone see's anything please reply to this thread, or call me on 07565848815. It would be greatly appreciated and id defo buy you a beer..if thats you're tipple.
Thanks

ok so having done this, warned the cops I was going to free my bike etc -- I'm now getting multiple phone calls and emails from 1 police officer saying that I need to pay for the lock and the mudguards that the owner had installed from his own pocket. He's relented and said that I can ignore the cost of the lock cause it's the only way I could get my own bike back. But keeps emailing me about these fucking mudguards. They are pieces of shit that I'm going to bin but I think it's outrages that approx 5k worth of bikes were stolen, the police didn't even bother to put in the crime file the serial numbers and pictures, they didn't bother when I called them and told them I had phone numbers of drug dealers who had my bikes (2 out of the 4), didn't bother coming round when I had found this bike (3rd out of the 4) ... and yet I've now got 3 emails and 3 phone calls about the mudguards where he keeps offering to come pick them up.

Say sorry they’ve been stolen 🤷🏼♀️

Report the owner for possession of stolen goods?
Then drop off the mud guards at the police station.
Also, if you can be bothered, file a complaint and detail the above.

Stolen from Kentish Town this week, possibly as part of a larger targeted attack on bikes in the area as neighbours also had bikes stolen
Cannondale caadx 54cm,
most of these are off the road as there’s been a product recall out on them since summer

I must say that sounds like odd behaviour from a police officer. Most don't seem to have the time to clear their workload but this one wants to take time out to chase, and then visit you for a set of mudguards. I'd ignore the emails unless there's any talk of (well) defined criminal charges and contact the station sergeant to ask why this officer has time to chase a set of mudguards but not to update a crn with details that could lead to recovery of 5k worth of property. That said, I do see more value in @PhilDAS response :-)
Either way, it sounds like insult to injury - must be very frustrating for you. -

he keeps saying there are 2 victims in the situation and I need to bear that in mind. It makes me wonder if a) this police officer is friends with the "victim" or b) this police officer is the "victim" ...

Tell him there isn't two victims, just you and a guy who's 'great deal' blew up in his face.
Anybody who buys a high-value item like that with no way to track down a verified seller deserves everything they get.
'Victims' like that drive the thefts in the first place. -

I’ve effectively replied outlining all the ways in which the police didn’t help me and yet have deemed these mudguards to be of the highest priority. And that life is unfair but this is perhaps the cost of making stupid decisions on gumtree. And I’ve just started a formal complaints procedure with the office of the PCC ...
What I really need to do is alert the staff seargent or the police Constable of the police station in question but not sure how to get in touch. A quick google only provides a complaints form ...

What a proper farce, just reinforces that they only interested in going after legitimate folks (stand a chance of a useful response/resolution) rather than scallies. Just to clear up, you've had several bikes stolen and this is only one of them found (by you) the others are still out there?
-
• #14771
i've gone out and found 3 of them ... 2 were with various drug dealers who I had to buy them back from ... but at a minimal cost, basically here's a 50 for your troubles ...
-
• #14772
Well done on the formal complaint with the PCC and yeah drop off the guards at the nearest police station.
Did the officer contacting you identify themselves?

• #14774
Contact me if possible?

Did you acquire his bike or are you trying to make a sale?
Fully grown men were being robbed of their bromptons etc in broad day light at that park. That and the lee valley canal area near Tottenham are notorious for muggings unfortunately. Stay clear of those I say.
