The speculation was of £15k complete. A full build is actually going to be closer to £30k

..of what? If it's 3% of frame drag, that's about 0.1% of total drag. Also no baseline specified; it's easy to find 3% if your baseline is a Pre Cursa 🙂

We’ve considered the design as if the rider and bike are a single unit.

Guessing it's based of the T5GB + rider as that is likely to be the data BC has tested and the comparison they're most interested in.

Yeah, that's what they say when they don't win. It's bollocks though, because UK Sport do allocate funding to athletes for World Champs so there is definite incentive to perform well at them. You're just not as good. :)

I have got my self wondering. The last tt bike I had I never liked one reason was on the extensions I could jot get to the brakes easily.

So if I had a single speed or fixed gear tt bike I could mount brakes lever on the extensions. Is there anyway I can make sure a crazy contraption work with essentially 4 brake levers.

Is fixed or single speed really quicker. I could just test it out on a track bike I have. Rode fixed again and I was surprised how easy it was.

Can the planet x framset be used as a fixed gear or single speed I.e are the dropouts long enough.

Just bin the extensions and enter the road bike class where available, or compete on a road bike against people on spaceships for extra cool points

You could shim some crosstops onto the extensions and it wouldn't interfere with gear levers plugged in to the ends, so SS/fixed is not necessary. You would probably also have so much drag from all the cables flapping around that brakes would be moot 🙂

Yes, on the days when you managed to choose a gear which was right all the way round. Most people who have been on fixed for a decade or more can remember that one day.

I use a road bike for TT's now well not now it late and theres no TT's now. Long winter evenings and my mind wanders....

Yeah, but £160 for two levers and two doublers, compared with <£10 for a pair of ebay crosstops which will be sufficient to demonstrate to @cycleclinic that putting the brakes on the tribar extensions isn't the game-changing idea he thinks it will be 🙂

Besides, the more annoying it is to brake, the less you’ll do it, and the faster you’ll go?
