    5. Ryo Fukui - Scenery

I only bought one 12" single that was released this year and it's a VERY good one:

    1. The Local Beatnik - Kirkstall Delight

And only one 7" single which I definitely did not enjoy:

    • Pinkfong - Baby Shark

There's a lot that I still haven't listened to properly yet but that's always the way.

Looking forward, as always, to see what everyone else enjoyed.

  • Glad to see the Coil reissue at number 1 in your reissue list. It’s an old friend of mine that put it out.

  • I'd have to say The best of The Beatles....

  • Amazing. They've done an excellent job with this and it was LONG overdue!

  • Sunn - Life Metal & Pyroclasts.
    Pom Poko - Birthday.
    Tool - Fear Inoculum.
    Ty Segall-First Taste.
    Nick Cave - Ghosteen.
    Opeth - In Cauda Venenum.
    Fka Twigs - Magdalena.
Stormzy - Heavy is the head.
    Sleaford Mods - Eton Alive.
    Karen O - Lux Prima.
    Michael Kiwanuka - Kiwanuka.
    White Denim - Side Effects.
    Pelican - Nighttime Stories.
John Garcia - John Garcia and the band of gold.

  • Can we do decade instead? That’s about the pace I buy music these days

  • Bea1991 - brand new adult

  • A big yes to Bill Callahan. And whilst I'd put Sebadoh in my top 5 fave bands of all time, I really didn't take to Act Surprised at all. Will give it another listen. And probably try some of the others on your list as you clearly have a good ear. Or two.

  • That is a nice list! I think I know about 75% of them so I'll definitely be investigating the rest.

  • Yeah, go for it!

  • Charli XCX - Charli
    FKA Twigs - Magdalene
    Sunn O))) - Life Metal

  • Likewise- Investigating your top ten as I only know about 30 percent. 👍

  • Be Svendsen - between a smile and a tear
    Big thief - two hands
    Holly hernden - proto
Emerson - if you need me, call me
    Shinichi atobe - heat

  • Boris - Love & evol
    Darkthrone - Old star
    Sebadoh - Act surprised
    Sunn O))) - Life metal
    Tiger Army - Retrofuture
Xiu Xiu - Girl with basket of fruit

    Reissues:
Massive Attack - Mezzanine 2018 remaster (eventually released August 2019)

  • Loving all the Sebadoh love in here, was anyone at the Scala the other month?

  • I was at the Bristol show. Several people in the guitar thread were at the Scala.

  • There was a lot but Kevin Morby, Purple Mountains, bunch of electronic shit, comes to mind.

    1. DIIV - Deceiver
    2. Glitterer - Looking Through the Shades
    3. Chastity - Home Made Satan
    4. Julia Jacklin - Crushing
    5. Stella Donnelly - Beware of the Dogs
    6. Martha - Love Keeps Kicking
    7. Webbed Wing - Bike Ride Across the Moon
    8. Mat Kerekes - Ruby
    9. Men I Trust - Oncle Jazz
    10. Glom - Bond
  • Various - Jazz Fest: The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
Solange - When I Get Home
    Alejandro Sanz - #ELDISCO

  • I just didn't like the DIIV album which was a real let down considering how much I like the first two.

  • I hadn't heard of them before Deceiver, so I'm probably biased towards saying: Deceiver > Is the Is Are > Oshin

  • I've really enjoyed the Viagra Boys - Street Worms album, I don't think my partner enjoyed my repeated dancing and singing though.

There's a compilation of Belgian New Beat that's pretty solid too.

I'm surprised to see Coil in any list.

  • There's a compilation of Belgian New Beat that's pretty solid too.

    Could you post a link?

  • Is The Is Are was pretty much on continuously for months. I was obsessed with it.

Has anyone here listens to the new Kevin Morby? Its incredible, a diamond.
