Yeah you're right. Which is beyond my means or desire to upkeep.

An H6 outback is shifty enough. The auto box is a bit agricultural but they are great cars.

Supercharged 5.4L V8 delivering 469 horsepower and 516lb-ft of torque for ~£8,500
Expect around 22 mpg and it won't be cheap if stuff goes wrong, but it should be acceptable when it comes to overtaking.

I still love how these look, but the interior isn't for me and the drivers door doesn't appear to fit the car anymore.
-
• #51981
I'm sure. I'll likely go try one.
I'll likely end up with another 530d. Maybe the se as the m sport was okay on a co ti mental motorway, but crashy on UK roads.

Seen that Father Jack tribute defender a few times in Caherciveen, always cheers me up!

My C55 is on 91,000 miles now, should I swap it for something else ahead of the 100k mark, as most cars take a hit in value above that, or would the <50 of them in the UK (officially, importers are bringing in Japanese cars) make the 100k mark unimportant?
If I were to replace it, what with?
-
• #51984
If you like it keep it. You already spent enough making it nice.
-
• #51985
I'd probably want around 13k for it, given that I'd challenge anyone to find one in better condition and it's the final one sold in the UK, with lower miles than any others I've seen.
Anyway, I could add 15-20k to that, for whatever it is that I replace it with, so lets say 30-35k for a fast but subtle car suitable for taking bikes and luggage around.
-
• #51986
Surely anyone looking for a car of that calibre realises there's hardly any difference between 93k miles and 104?
-
• #51987
IDK, in terms of 911's (which are much more common, entertainingly) there's deffo a drop in price from under to over the 100k mark.
-
• #51988
But isn't the drop in sale price likely to be significantly less than the cost of the first service of the new car?
-
• #51989
Possibly, I may simply be looking for an excuse for a “what car” discussion.

Odd period of Mercs - great looking interiors with ugly exteriors that look like they were designed by 90s Toyota employees.

V10. What else do you need?

Pre-order 5 series electric touring?
From the sounds of it 90% of the Merc driving could be electric.
Otherwise lease a full fat 54whateverBMWcallitnowi.

E61 M5 Touring?
Or an Alpina.
There's a great Tif Nielsen(?) 5th Gear floating around YouTube of a E61 M5.

Good idea. B6 would be on my list in the event of a lottery win.

There’s been a red 410 Evora parked in my road for the past couple of weeks.
I really like how they look (and sound).
