And on a personal level I feel stateless. I’ve always considered myself European and I hate (& fear) the little England mentality (I deliberately leave out wales and Scotland).
This very much express my feeling too. I wasn’t even born here, I’m probably on a list somewhere in the home office to be sent back, at least the weather will be better!
So that’s it then. No way back. The open door to Europe will close and we will look to sell whatever it is we still make to the rest of the world.
We are not a world power and we have not been for 70 years. We punch above our weight but I cannot see how we can compete with the likes of China, India, Japan going forwards as they simply have too many resources to hand.
