So you’re running a 1 1/8 stem with a shim on a 1” threaded fork, with a 1” threadless headset?

Yes I'm running a 1 1/8 stem on a 1” threaded long steerer, with a 1” threadless headset and no issues for now sir, probably won't do that on a MTB...
You can always fill the threads with epoxy puddy, sand it out to make it smooth...

Epoxy won't add a lot in the way of structural rigidity 8)

Not a set up I'd personally run... too scared stress will cause sheering on the threaded area.

Not only if that. I've used this particular BBB extender to extend ahead Forks even.

Rack mounts, sure. Steerer swap, not quite that comfortable yet I’m afraid.
