I seem to remember kids were either into that or pogs.

Pre -internet in the late 80's, teenage me obtained a mail order VHS copy of Akira and was well impressed. I remember excitedly ripping open the posties next Manga VHS delivery, and sitting down in the family living room with my Gran to watch it. She hadn't seen Akira and I thought she would be bored and just ignore it and continue knitting.

I don't ever recall having read any reviews, and think I just bought the next available Manga I could find via some magazine, and just thought it would be along the same lines. As it turns out, Legend of the Overfiend is not like Akira at all.

This reminds me of when I went to Picasso 1932 at Tate Modern last year. There was a room with contemporary artworks, including The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife. The one with the octopi.

A woman was looking at it and excitedly dragged her distinctly pre-teen daughter over to peer at it closely - it's only about A4 size.

Not sure that's been assembled incorrectly - my guess is someone has just turned the bars holding the wheel. The front brake would hit the downtube and probably lock on judging by the length of the cable if it was used like that.
