If elected leader they will have many other things to attack her on and the public will see a lot more of her. They will like what they see.
That incident was quite a few years ago. Think how many worse things Johnson has done in the past month.

That’s good to hear. But a lot or people will judge her solely on the tabloid slurs, especially the England flag nonsense. Does the party need a leader with so much baggage when it is already seriously diminished?
