Fwiw as a non-Labour supporter I rate Emily T.
Every time I've heard her speak she's smashed it, evening when having to BS. Compared to JC and Diane Abbott she's head and shoulders above them in terms of presenting as a convincing politician.

I’d like Blair to come back or someone with a bit or charisma. Maybe David Lammy.

Sounds like you know her personally, maybe your judgement is skewed

I think Phillips/Starmer or Phillips/Lammy would give the Tories the most trouble as a PM/Deputy pairing (either way round really). I think Johnson would have a lot of trouble any of those three.

I do know her. I was her Election Agent. I have seen her at work. I know how activists from throughout the party and voters warm to her. I have heard her speak on numerous occasions. She is inspirational.
I know her. Maybe my judgment is based upon first hand knowledge and not tabloid slurs.

I don’t know so much about Nandy. She May be good but she hasn’t impressed me in the way that the others have with their charisma. We need photogenic politicians, ones who perform well in the media. This is perhaps sad but also true. Maybe Nandy has it. I just haven’t seen it yet.

Emily Thornberry was at one time the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group. What else do you need to know?

Also worth pointing out that many of those estates have had huge investment and pretty nice with excellent playgrounds, outdoor spaces, etc.
Islington Council has done an amazing job despite a 70% - yes 70% - reduction in funding. There is still huge deprivation on those estates. They need money spent on them. There needs to be more social housing. The money simply is not there.

That’s good to hear. But a lot or people will judge her solely on the tabloid slurs, especially the England flag nonsense. Does the party need a leader with so much baggage when it is already seriously diminished?
I don’t think it does.

Charlie. You must be pleased with Claudia’s election as MP for a Leicester seat. Rowena Champion, her replacement as chair of Islington’s environment Committee is excellent.

If elected leader they will have many other things to attack her on and the public will see a lot more of her. They will like what they see.
That incident was quite a few years ago. Think how many worse things Johnson has done in the past month.

Riiiiiiighhht.
This is data from public health england and shows how islington is doing next to its nearest cipfa neighbours (areas most like it) and benchmarked against England.
I'd have a look through there.
London, has a massive inequality within areas. You can have LSOAs bumping up against each other that are massively different.
When new measures come out and show an area improving overall compared to other parts of the country/london, it's worth pointing out it's not always an improvement. The other areas might be getting shitter. For the more granular picture

As I said earlier I met her canvassing and she was a really inspiring and warm person.

What England flag comments? All she did was post a picture of a house draped in England flags. Her tweet made no comment other than it was in Rochester. The media turned it into a story.
Is that true?
Yes there are plenty of estates, but does that actually make up the majority of residences?
Also worth pointing out that many of those estates have had huge investment and pretty nice with excellent playgrounds, outdoor spaces, etc.
