I don’t usually get expensive panettone. Carluccio’s ones are supposed to be top notch, but on special offer at £34 for two I can’t justify that.
Wilko red box ones are excellent IMO and an absolute barg at £3.50 for a 900g’er. My local has sold all of its panettone mountain already.
Lidl ones I don’t remember being too bad but I don’t have a Lidl near me any more. Was about £7-8 but that was a while back.
Wasn’t impressed by Waitrose, especially the cherry and chocolate covered in what appears to be low melting point brown wax. Seem to remember Sainsbury’s got it completely wrong, unsurprisingly, and can get in the bin.
