It's designed for a motorbike, but my thoughts were around chopping it up a little bit and fitting a small bike light like a lezyne zecto inside it to replace the original bulbs.

new front disc brake for my vigorelli. i use it for commuting but my knees are shattered i hope this help because i love this bike and rideing fixed gear

I ride 48/20 🤷 (in a flat city). Gets me more than enough speed for me. But it's personal for sure.

Likely the last update for the rest of winter. A little bit too triggerhappy on ebay meant new hydraulics - they feel like they have less stopping power than the HYRD they're replacing, but I think that's the pads. I'll get some swissstops in a couple weeks if necessary.
Around spring time:- either carbon or titanium seat post
- less obtrusive seatost collar - tune
- cut the steerer
- sram rotors
- Extralite chainrings
- KMC gold chain (?)

Do you live in the UK? How can you dry washing outside in this season? Its like 100% humidity and 5 degrees?

spilt the very bucket of soapy water i was using to clean the bike all over the kitchen floor - the tea towels you see hanging were used to mop it up. I guess they're draining, not really drying

Anybody on here using a sub-compact crankset on a road bike? I'm planning on getting a new bike, and am thinking about getting a sub-compact as I really can't be doing with trying to use anything more than a 48 tooth large ring as, frankly, I'm just not able to use it much in highest gears, and so anything more just seems superfluous to me. I was thinking probably something like 48/36 would be more than enough as In really encounter truly big hills and I tend to almost always stick in thelarge front ring anyway. Its either that or single front ring

Anybody on here using a sub-compact crankset on a road bike? I was thinking probably something like 48/36
I have 48/34 on my road bike, and the smallest sprocket is a 12. Plenty big enough (106") at the top end unless you're actually trying to race down hills, and 34/27 is a pretty low (33") bottom gear without resort to big jumps through the mid range and a mid-cage dérailleur.

Not contemporary sub compact because it’s on a 130bcd crankset, but I run 48/38 rings and 11-34 10-speed cassette on my geared bike. Gives me loads of useable range in the 48 ring because riding on the flat I’m right in the middle of the cassette, then about 20% extra bailout gearing if I drop into the 38. Old, irregularly used knees get knackered easily - it’s worth thinking about.

Also consider 46/36. I run this set up on one of my bikes. It's easy to move between chainrings. I ride mainly on my own these days - I'm getting too slow for faster club rides. I like to keep the gears spinning and not get too fatigued trying to push 50/52 chainrings.

I understand you may want to keep your 130bcd chainset, but I think a 48/34 with a 12-30 will give you a similar low-end with smaller gaps at the cassette.
In any case it's a shame that there's not more choice of cassettes starting with 12t sprockets.
