New car, suggestions welcome. I think petrol rather than diesel. Subaru Outback 3.0L was my first thought. Budget 3k.
BMW was 235PS and 500NM. Ideally something at these or more. It was nice to be able to overtake.
The H6 outback is only 206bhp and 282nm. Also 4WD makes a notable difference in terms of weight and transmission losses to the wheels so will feel a lot slower than your BMW.
Forester STI? Basically a 2.5 Impreza WRX running gear in an small SUV
The gen4 has the 245hp version with variable valve lift but is only available in auto.
Ukdm Legacy comes in 3.0r auto and 3.0 spec b manual, but sits slightly lower than the outback.
A lot less torque than the BMW, but will move pretty quick if you give them enough revs (also sweet h6 noise)
