  • Did they confiscate the scooter too?

  • Didnt see in the brief moment of passing

  • My train down to Kings Cross stopped at Potters Bar due to ‘a fatality at Finsbury Park’. So I ended up having to cycle from Potters Bar to Cockfosters on my Brompton, which should have been a 6km journey but turned into a 10km ride as I got a wee bit lost and ended up going through The Land That Taste Forgot (aka Hadley Wood). That just left me with a 30 minute tube journey into Chambers in order to be there in time for a conference.

Then on the way back to Kings Cross, the front wheel of my Brompton skidded on a wet manhole cover, and I hit the ground rather hard.

When I got to Kings Cross the train was absolutely packed, and I ended up having to stand for an hour all the way to Cambridge as the blood dripped slowly off my fingers from the cuts on my right hand.

    FML.

  • Sounds like teh meh.
    :-(
    Comiz.
Well done for being in time for conference.

  • ‘a fatality at Finsbury Park'

    FML.

    jesus christ.

  • Freezing fog in Leeds today. Wahoo said -2C. Stuck to the main roads to avoid ice. #dontlean

  • Quite atmospheric this morning

  • proper grim out there this evening. wind and cold driving rain.
glad I binned off my usual 12 mile ride and did the 2 miles to the train instead.
last commute of the decade for me - was hoping for a better one! oh well!
good luck out there boys n girls!

  • 23 miles of windblown misery plus altercation with wa*ker driver. Seasonal joy

  • I drove into work today in Surrey hills. Prius driver undertook me and ten others on the A12 southbound on the hard shoulder, under the Hackney Wick tunnel at around 60mph. I didn't know Priui could accelerate so quickly.

Then on the two and three quarter hour drive home, everyone seemed to forget that you can use a handbrake to stop the car rolling when stationary, so kept their feet on the foot brake instead. Very bright, very red, very annoying

  • Glass everywhere
    Rain a lot
Peds doing phone thing in road
    Stupid pointless overtakes
    Nice chats with Q1 faces
If I ever leave I’ll miss it

  • Moist and windy

  • Green. Wave.

Rode the usual 8.5-mile commute through SE London this morning. There must be, what, 45 sets of traffic lights on that route? Not one of them was red. Genuinely started laughing when the very last set, on the entrance to my work car park, turned green about two seconds before I rolled through them. Merry Christmas, bike.

  • Visit from the p-fairy yesterday via another sharktooth flint on College road. Think I'm ditching the duranos - not really suitable for this time of year with the amount of gravelly stuff I ride over on the way in. Need something practical and hardwearing for the 'wagon - forum faves?

Oh and last night was not massively fun. Recovering from a virus and the headwind made it feel like cycling through treacle.

  • Convinced drivers are worse since the start of December.

  • Such a great feeling. Made it from central to around Denmark Hill on a green wave once, was amazing.

Really glad this is my last cycling day of the year today. Have nearly been crashed into / stacked it more times in the last few days than the last few months.

  • I was in a foul mood this morning due a cold that wont go away. So when two wobbly cunts went straight through a red light at junc of bloomsbury way/bury place without even looking and nearly took me out, I was livid. I even managed to get my water bottle out (hydration is important)and give them a bit of a spray as well. wasn't even cathartic.

  • Oh and last night was not massively fun.

Think I managed to miss the bad weather but traffic along cs7 all the way from Tooting Bec to Colliers Wood was solid and not moving much - madness and added to the usual Tooting carnage.

  • Cycling along the last bit of town to the office & some guy feels the need to stand deliberately in my way, moving so he'd still be in my way when I changed my tack. Don't know what he was trying to achieve other than marking himself out as a massive twat.

  • Either I had a tailwind this morning or cycling without a bag full of clothes and laptop makes a huge difference!

  • Really glad this is my last cycling day of the year today

One more day for me - feels like I'm pushing it with the light in the mornings now. That and the never ending rain.

  • Next time, wear your bag on the front. You can draft it the whole way.

  • Marathon Supreme is my favoured tyre for hardwearing but not too slow.

  • Have enough trouble doing kick ups with my gut Id have bruised knees if there was anything else there
