My amazing wife (and her big data scientist friend) have been building a start-up based around skin care. Essentially it's a recommendation engine for products that'll work for individual skin types, age, environment etc - here's their bio:
Beauty simplified with a 3 minute survey powered by big data and expert advice. Delving behind the branding smoke-and-mirrors to find clean, effective skincare that works for you as an individual.
You do the survey, they take your profile and suggest products that'll work for you.
You can find them here at skoosh skin, their instagram is here too.
Just now they're building the survey and collating all their data, if you or anyone you know is interested - sign up is go! Once they have 100 beta tester sign-ups the survey will go live and the first customers can try it out for reals. There's no incentive to buy anything or subscriptions or anything, zero strings.
I know, this is a nine year dredge of a thread with 31 posts, but hey, the forum and it's users have grown up since then, now we all care about the SPF content of our moisturiser, or we should...

In a vaguely related sidebar: I work with my hands all day, washing with gritty swarfega. I've found O'Keeffes Working Hands to be really good - nothing to do with my wife, it's just pretty good. Can get it in Leyland SDM where I buy my sandpaper too.
