Yeah I dunno why. I had stopped completing and he proceeded to plow right into me. Mayve because I was stopped they didnt go off.

I'd hope it's more to do with measuring acceleration at such a fine level that even though it was a big shunt, it was designed cleverly enough to realise deploying the airbag was unnecessary.

Yep, snap. Airbags can cause injury themselves, so if their is not sufficient energy in the impact to fire them they don’t (shouldn’t!) fire.

Given the ever increasing scope of the Takata airbag recalls it's probably better if the bags don't blow. I'd rather not have shrapnel fired at my face in a minor shunt!

Also, the 5 series... Probably more repairable if the airbags are still intact. Not sure I'd want that though. Glad you're ok

@skinny glad you are Ok, hope you have a dashcam or they'll be splitting that down the middle. They, the insurance, will see it as two vehicles failing to give way to each, hopefully they won't or the other driver is very honest, but in my wives, very similar, case it went knock for knock and lost no-claims.

He admitted liabitly to his insurance. They said so to me.

I also have an audio recording of him doing the same. So I will be pushing hard.

To be honest, he was a nice guy, all be it drives like an idiot, and was apologetic. Hes a parcel delivery guy, independent veichle, and I feel for him as it will cost him. Though I can't see him learning from it

Yeah he did have business insurance. Again, he was an idiot, but a seemingly honest and decent guy.

Maybe delete the price. You never know who is watching. My mate got an A4 written off. Worth £2000 on a very good day. He got £4500! I think he was as surprised as me.
