• After spending months on how to mount my front cam (it was a Mobius, light) to the underside of the Wahoo mount (using 3D printing and everything. It kept cracking after some time, etc) I finally bit the bullet and got a K-Edge combo this fall. £££ but real nice, though this time I had to add bunch of faff to get the cam to play nice with the gopro style bracket mount. All solved by getting a Cycliq to the front (Sportpursuit sale) and moving the better-quality-but-gps-jamming Mobius to the back (under saddle)

Now I can send picture-in-picture (front-back sync'd) videos to roadsafe reporting all sorts of minor infringements. Just reported two cycle box violations the other day, clearly showing the motorcyclists' approach to the box, also violating the mandatory cycle lane (lucky junction with the cycle lane positioned in the middle) after the light being clearly red and all traffic already stopped.

  • Rounding error :P

  • as evidence at the trial when I do get killed.

Oh snap! This is why I have one too.

  • I got one of the ebay Cyclic Fly12 mark 1's today. Is the light supposed to come on when you turn it on? Or am I missing some way to turn it on? There's no reference to turning the light on in any of the manuals, just how to cycle through the modes, so I'm assuming that the light should come on automatically when it powers up. If that's the case, mine isn't working. I thought I'd try to do a master reset but the reset pin hole is missing on mine, or at least it's not where the manual says it should be, which is a bit fishy...

  • The camera is always on. There are 10 light modes (by default - you can change this), one of which being no light

The reset button /is/ there, but it is not obvious.

  • Thanks. I’ll keep digging for the reset button then

  • Here it is

  • Thanks, got it. Reset hasn’t helped. Must be busted. I’ve emailed cycliq but I’ll probably just organise a replacement through the seller

  • Turn it on. Then push the power button again. Push not hold.

    Working? ;)

  • Yes, sort of... the light came on and then immediately went off and the unit shut down. It’s done the same 3 times in a row

  • Reset has sorted that out. Working now. Cheers.

Is that in the manual? If it is I’ve missed it on multiple reads. I am drinking 7% beer but that’s dumb if I have

  • No. Just a hunch. Then I tested it on mine before posting.

    Glad its working.

  • I have an out front mount for my garmin on a Canyon (H36 integrated handlebar stem thing) and I'd like to mount a cam using a gopro style fixing. Can I mod the existing mount with an adapter or am I doomed to buying an entirely new out front mount?

Sorry if this has been asked before - I'm not terribly competent at searching (I did try).

EDIT - I just found this but someone here might have another option https://www.shapeways.com/product/UEKUY2HWK/canyon-aerocockpit-gopro-mount?optionId=91750004

  • I have two mounts very similar to that one that I bought to mount Apeman cameras but they didn't fit.

These but with another bit that's supposed to hang off the bottom like the one in your pic
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B019H81QZS/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item

What I mean is, if I can find one you can have it

  • That's v kind of you - do you mean the adapter bit to attach to the bottom? If so that would be amazing. If it's the whole mount as in the link I'm not sure it would work unfortunately as the bars are ovalised integrated jobbies so standard handlebar clamps don't fit...

  • Found one of the blubuzz mounts but not the GoPro bit that hangs off it. Must be in another bag somewhere. Need to go now but remind me tonight if I don't get back to you.

  • Also bear in mind that there are lots of tales of cameras interfering with Garmins in that kind of mount.

  • Yes, the processor in the camera generates some noise ("harmonics" is the term I think) in the GPS band so that it affects GPS. To remedy this I keep a "GPS Accuracy" field in one of my screens on Wahoo, and I turn on the camera after the fix is acquired. If the cam is recording/noise is there from the beginning, the unit can't lock on to GPS. After the fix is acquired, the accuracy drops a little when the cam is on, but it's rarely lost. (I used to have a Mobius camera under my Wahoo, now I use a Fly12CE, not as bad, but essentially the same thing)

  • First ride on the Fly12 today. First thoughts:

1: 2.5 hour ride and the battery is at 50%, not quite living up to the 10 hours stated in the blurb
2: It turned itself off after 30 seconds riding which had it been noisier I might not have noticed
3: A dick pushed me into the gutter down a narrow lane and when I pressed the incident button nothing happened and there is no saved/locked footage on the camera
4: The app is flaky as fuck and spends an annoying long time loading (looking for connections I'm guessing)

  • Sounds like you have a dodgy unit based on your last few posts...What memory card are you using?

  • The one that came with it. Are they alright or worth swapping to something else?

  • On further check it seems like there's a lot of picture breakup on the recordings too so maybe it's best to send it back for a replacement.

  • Okay so it's a couple of weeks too late but here's my video review of my 2019 cycling year all shot with my GoPro Session 4

  • Fucking cunt. Had some Bentley driver cunt almost take me out this morning and the cunting apeman didn't cunting get the cunts cunting plate. Fucking shitbox.
