I have a sinwave beacon and a e3 taillight. E3 is DC so need to run a resister between front and rear lights. Can I do it without the resister? does it matter that much? If I just plug in tail light to lamp it won't blow up will it?

silly hipster awkward headlights

nah they are great. Just bit of a fiddle with DC rears.

Might flicker

will flicker

Just hope it flickers fast enough !! less than 10ms or so

isn't rear light always DC? My E3 taillight (plugged into a variety of B+M) wouldn't turn on until connectors were switched around. Then it's fine.
edit - hadn't realized DC was referring to the E3, my bad

Would it not be a capacitor/diode bridge rectifier (or some shit) you need for AC → DC? Rather than a resistor
Probably only a few more pence/solderings

Just going off what Sinwave has on their website..

E3 pure on b&m mount and trp brake, the mount hits the brake making it sit wonky.
Whats the solution?

I told you!
Bend it back, then forward if you need the light to be forward to clear cables etc!

Looks shit. Burn it.

Link to the site? @frankenbike is right, doing it properly would involve a rectifier. I guess the rear light has sufficient protection circuitry to survive the AC signal.

Can you straighten the bracket a bit (at the brake caliper end). I guess it depends on how much space there is between rear of light and headtube.

I had this exact same issue with TRP brakes, I couldnt find a bracket that would sit nicely with the caliper. I ended up mounting my E3 Pro 2 down by the dropout on the mudguard mount, it works really well in fact. I used the Supernova mount and unscrewed the two halves, putting one half on the inside of the light.

whats the story with the fargo bike? is there project thread somewhere?
-
• #2474
so even the og supernova mount wont . work?
-
• #2475
Not with the Trp brakes due to the bracing on the arm being in the way. I’ve tried a bunch on different mounts I had including the supernova one to no avail. Either a bar mount or side of fork mount like mine would be your easiest options
