Wearing two mismatched left shoes is odd though. Given Abbott hasn’t explained it, not sure why others are trying to. Half the attention was because of the denials or accusations of fake news. I only heard about the whole thing because of people saying it shouldn’t be a thing. Streisand effect and all that.

It's just another way to monster someone who is other.
There are reasons to pick on an elected official, ineptitude is one (is she? More than others? Or is she just a more visible inept MP who because they're black and female it's ok to go to town on?). Picking on someone's clothing choice as a another way to just go mad on them is pretty basic.
Picking in burgon though? Go to town. He's inept.
