Arkose SS - Do it all beater commuter project

Just nabbed this beauty on ebay and thought i'd make a thread for what im planning with it.

The plan is to convert it to flat bars and put some nicer tyres on etc, possibly racks and maybe at some point upgrade the wheelset!

Anyone got/had one and want to share their experience?

Nice, been waiting for a SS/Alfine Arkose frameset to come up in my size for a while.

Nice. If you wanna move the trp hylex brakes on, if you do go flat bar, I'd be interested in the levers and calipers.

Yeah hub gears is hovering in the back of my mind as a potential future option..single speed for now though definitely! Somehow i have missed that thread! will give it a good read now!

I have the same era Arkose, which I have made into a SS conversion, and used flat bars; They make for a very strange ride. Personally, I love the feel for just razzing about, but in the summer when I do some bigger days, the drops always go back on.

So finally had delivery of this and chance to take a proper look - So far managed to put my gravelkings on (too green? lol)

The brakes need a bleed as there is next to no stopping power at the moment, still need to find some levers/calipers to go over to flat bar at some point..but guess i will keep it like this until then
