Yup, rebutting the populist negative stigma of immigrants in this Brexit age.
Worse still, those of BAME ancestry now calling for immigration to be stopped.
I've encountered quite a few BAME friends who have married a 'local' or who are naturalized citizens who now consider themselves 'local' and spew the same anti immigrants narrative! The mind boggles...
Of course, I think we all* understand these points. I was just trying to convey the usual reasons/excuses people use.
I personally think the entire concept of immigration is absolutely ridiculous. People should be free to move around wherever they please. Borders are imaginary. How you can tell some people no you can't come and be on this bit of land, we have decided that this is ours, not yours... well it beats me.
*LFGSS being a massive echo chamber and all
