Can you get it unlocked before sale?

Unusual to be locked to a network nowadays?

Hmm, pretty sure it’s locked to EE but maybe I’m wrong. I’ll check it with a sim from another network this evening.

It’s definitely locked to EE, checked on eBay too and there are plenty of phones for sale that are locked to various networks.

Thanks for the link, added the unlock info to the post 🙂

Probably makes more sense for you to get it unlocked. You'll sell it for more than a tenner more than the locked price and people that don't want the faff will be interested too

Pretty sure that if the contract has expired and the phone is now yours then the network is obliged by law to unlock it for you if you request. Vodafone did it for my last phone so I’m now on Virgin

Yeh fair point. I was just being lazy...
I’ll give EE a call to get it unlocked.

Just got off the phone with EE and they don’t unlock new phones until 6 months have passed. So it’s locked to EE until June 2020. I’ve added this to the original post.
I’ll leave it listed here for a few days before putting it back on eBay.

SOLD
Selling a new but opened iPhone 11 - Black, 64GB and locked to EE.Purchased this new and sealed from an eBay seller on Monday but after having a play around for an hour or so today, I’ve decided that I actually prefer my old and beat up 7 plus. So going to wait this cycle out until the next generation comes around. It’s not left my living room and has been erased, reset and put back in the box - so it’s in perfect condition and as good as new. So if you’re looking to upgrade and save a bit of cash, here you go.Looking to recoup what I paid so£660 £650 £640 - UK posted via Royal Mail Special - PayPal pleaseThis is locked to EE’s network, so only for you if you’re already with them or thinking of getting one of their sim only deals (their “smart” plans are actually pretty good with no data usage for various streaming services) They don’t allow new phones to be unlocked until after 6 months. So this can only be used with EE until June 2020Pics:
